Lots happening in our dragon boat world over the next few months & don’t forget to get your entries in for Clarence Coast’s Inaugural Regatta on Sat 9 & Sun 10 Feb – Entry forms are on the DBNSW website. I believe that lot’s of us will be camping there in Lawrence on the Saturday night. More fun! I had my first Stand Up Paddleboard lesson (with Sue Olive/Tits) on the weekend & we are hooked! Life doesn’t get much better than paddling around in the harbour & marina in Coffs on a spectacular day. I only fell off 3 times in 1 & ½ hr session. Yay! Heads up for all us dragon boaters – We have an advantage because it’s the same technique. Think it’s also gonna teach me to be a sweep too. Lookout! Looking forward to seeing many of you in Grafton next Saturday for the Erg trials with George Louie – Not! Cheers Maws Maureen Shaw Nth Coast Coordinator Dragon Boats NSW Inc. A big thanks to the members who were able to hand out brochures and figure highly in the fun day The following are messages from Volunteers at yesterday's Sawtell Fun Day. from Mary B Most thanks should go to Steph who had to get the boat early as church car park was filling up and also got us all into the club spirit on a very hot morning and did a great job of towing the boat in the parade and returning it to rest back at the church...coments on the parade route as to how well she handled such a big load.. we all of course did our best to look pretty which we all managed well after possibly some hectic night prior ......Go you good thing Coffs Coast.... and Karen S Cool! And Well done to our driver Steph for her wonderful manoeuvering of the float - that deserves an award on its own! Bet that's one of the reasons we got the award... Cheers to all Karen S ----- and Fran S Well done all. Fran S AUSTRALIA DAY IS HERE
We are getting together for a boat working bee.. Where: 10 The Grove, Urunga. When: 26/1/13 Time: After paddling on Saturday What to Bring: Cloths, polish if can, elbow grease, sand paper etc. Phil and Fran have opened up their home for a sleep over, swim, kayaking, dinner and during this time we will work on our clubs boats for some long awaited TLC.
